NEXT UP at TIOH Arts & Culture is a concert that you won’t want to miss!

California Feetwarmers
with special guests cimbalomist Cory Beers and lead singer of La Santa Cecilia Marisol “La Marisoul” Hernandez

This Saturday, May 18 at 8 pm
presented by Temple Israel of Hollywood Arts & Culture

$15 General Admission
$5 TIOH members & guests

Bringing New Orleans jazz and ragtime to the West Coast, The California Feetwarmers deliver horn-heavy rags, banjo stomps, and dixieland jazz for your ears and feet! Los Angeles natives, they formed in 2012 and have branched out of their Southern California roots having played/toured in over 10 countries, including Canada, Mexico, Columbia, Scotland, Ireland, Switzerland, Germany, Italy, and Albania, where they played at the U.S. Embassy as part of the 4th of July celebration.

And joining the Feetwarmers are not one, but two very special guests!

Cory Beers is one of the foremost specialists of the cimbalom (an enormous concert hammered dulcimer of Eastern European origin) having performed throughout the world in diverse classical, folk and jazz idioms with orchestras and chamber ensembles. His precision, inventiveness and uncanny virtuosity have made him one of the most sought-after cimbalom artists in North America.

Marisol “La Marisoul” Hernandez is the Grammy-award winning lead singer of the Mexican-American band “La Santa Cecilia.” Taking inspiration from all over the world, she uses Pan-American rythms like rumba, bolero, cumbia, tango, jazz, rock and klezmer. Her wild style and powerful vocals have won her fans the world over.

These master musicians will be performing together for ONE NIGHT ONLY at TIOH Arts & Culture!

Janell P. says:

Hi there!!

I am in charge of my daughter’s school end of year festival and we are having a sock hop theme. I’d love to get a couple dancers out to do a small demo and maybe even teach the kids some super easy dance moves. There will be about 100 folks in total (40+ will be children between 1yo-6yo). The date is Saturday, June 8 and the event runs from 3p-6p I would imagine we would want a 30-40 minute performance around 5pm! Please let me know who you would suggest I reach out to for something like this!
Thanks so much,
Janell

Brian says:

Went to Barkley to see the Moontones. Band was great. The venue is crap. The owner was a jerk and I will never go there again. Worst Venue in LA

Hi Rick,

Thanks for commenting!

Can you tell us what happened at Barkely? If you want, you can message me privately at swingbrian@gmail.com.
