The 4th Western Swing Dance Festival returns on Sunday July 23 in E. Pasadena at the Crown City Dancehall.
Carl Sonny Leyland’s Barndance Boogie features his All-Star Western Swing band: Dave Stuckey on skins, Benny Brydern fiddle, Jack O’Rooney bass, Kully Stiles steel guitar and Marc Caparone on trumpet.
Joining the show is the honky tonkin’ Mitch Polzak & the Royal Deuces from San Francisco.
The Southwest Biscuit Company plays their own original Western swing, and also back up the Honky Tonk Angels:
Abby Girl, Lil’ Sue and K.P. Hawthorn.
PLUS – Big Sandy returns to spin western swing dance nuggets from his huge collection all day long!
It’s a late matinee with hardwood dance floor, two bars, BBQ and vintage vendors. 2-7 pm on Sunday July 23 at 140 S. Rosemead in E. Pasadena near the 210. Plenty of parking, 18+, reserved seating available.
The Crown Theatre (hosting Swingtronic and the California Feetwarmers)
This hot spot has been featuring top-notch bands and drawing big turnouts from Swing dancers!
Crown City Dance is the name for Swing dance events at the Crown Theatre in Pasadena. This sumptuous space has a huge wooden dance floor with plenty of room to dance.
They feature live Swing bands on Monday nights plus other special Swing dance events. If you’re able to make it to Pasadena, you should definitely check this place out!
