“Welcome to American Bandstand” was Dick Clark’s greeting to the 5 times a week show he hosted and produced starting in 1957. The very popular music and dance show lasted until 1987 – 30 Years!
On Sunday, May 3rd, the Eric Ekstrand Ensemble will bring some of that nostalgia back to Club 507 in Newhall, CA. The full 10-piece band will explore the songs (mostly from the 50s) that were popular on the program, plus some of the Jump, Jive and R&B music that eventually morphed into Rock ‘n’ Roll. Featuring artists like Fats Domino, Jerry Lee Lewis, Bill Haley and the Comets, Bobby Darin, etc. they’ll be bringing back memories and creating new ones while keeping the dance floor full and the dancers excited. The Eric Ekstrand Ensemble has been around in Los Angeles since 1992 and still going strong.
Just $25 gets you into this awesome live music event, where you’re sure to be swinging all night long! Besides, you’ll get connected with some of the most interesting dancers in the LA area. We’re like family at 507 — everyone dances with everyone, and it’s so much fun! We’ll be having some special AMERICAN BANDSTAND FUN WITH TUNES from the era, as well as TREATS & FUN for you, and hope you’ll join us for this special event.
