3 sets of live music by The Barrelhouse Wailers Jazz Band – Hailing from Ventura, CA The Barrelhouse Wailers serve up their own take on Prohibition Era hot jazz and blues music of the 1920’s and 1930’s. They perform on only acoustic instruments to retain the authentic sound of that period. The Wailers bring their passion and energy to the style, making it as fresh today as it was when it was the newest, hottest dance music 100 years ago! They have been influenced by a cocktail of artists, past and present, like Bessie Smith, Ella Fitzgerald, Preservation Hall Jazz Band, Tuba Skinny, Sydney Bichet, Billie Holiday as well as Traditional New Orleans Jazz, Classic Blues, Country Blues and Big Band sounds.

Swingtronic is a monthly Swing dance event featuring the most popular vintage bands in an upscale nightclub atmosphere.
Originally emphasizing electro swing, Swingtronic now features regular Swing dancing (Lindy) and New Orleans jazz bands such as the Big Butter Jazz Band, Dave Stuckey, the Holy Crow Jazz Band, and Jonathan Stout and His Campus Five Featuring Hilary Alexander. DJ Professor Watson spins dance music between sets.
“Dapper and Dolled” dress code is requested at all Swingtronic events to preserve the upscale vintage feel of this event. If you don’t have vintage clothing, at least dress up.

The Venue
Swingtronic has been held at various upscale bars including Pour Vous and the Airliner. Its current home is the Crown Theatre in Pasadena!
