Grand Central Market is one of the coolest places in downtown LA, in my opinion. It’s got a great selection of food, from Mexican to Thai to Italian and has a great energy. So, it’s also one of my favorite places to go Swing dancing!
During certain times of the year they have Sunday Jazz Nights, occasionally featuring bands that you can Swing dance to! Previous examples have included the California Feetwarmers, and more often, the Vignes Rooftop Revival, both great bands to Balboa/Shag to! Check the Lindy Calendar for times.
Parking is easy either in the parking garage ($5 for the first 90 minutes and $2 for each 15 minutes afterwards), or in the parking lot across the street (price depends on time of day).
Ground is polished cement so it’s actually not bad to dance on! Sometimes it’s actually a bit too slippery, but it’s better than what you’d expect for concrete.
So, round up your dance crew, have dinner there, and dance in an amazing venue with great ambiance and music!
